This conference will feature over a dozen speakers and panelists including local operators, cultural practitioners, travel experts and more. Some of those presenting include:

Jim Dannemiller, SMS Research, Honolulu, who will share findings from the recent Hawaii Tourism Authority study on health and wellness travel.
Kristin McGrath, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Big Island Visitors Bureau, will discuss plans for BIVB’s promotion of wellness and spa travel.
Susan Tanzman Travel Agent and Travel Attorney from Martin's Travel in Los Angeles, CA. Susan was named #1 Travel Agent in the U.S. by the American Society of Travel Agents. She will cover basics of operational guidelines and standards for wellness travel vacations, packages and retreats.
Charlotte Novom, President, Novom Marketing, Hollywood, CA will share public relations strategies and how to work with travel writers, media and publicists.

High-speed graphic illustrator Jim Channon will be on hand to delight us with his colorful graphic recording and illuminating summaries. Jim will lead us in an inter-active, strategic visioning session as we develop a strategy and next steps forward.
Eco-Troubadour Nelson Denman will perform his new song “The Healing Island.” This event is sure to inspire, entertain and unite all those who attend. |

At this conference, a Hawai’i Island Wellness Travel Association will be established. This non-profit, membership based organization proposes to do the following:
Promote and develop wellness travel on the Island of Hawai’i
Create industry standards, guidelines and a code of ethics for wellness travel
Offer on-going training, educational classes, workshops and seminars
Provide group insurance and group marketing opportunities
Offer website presence and media outreach
Create an information and resources network
